IELTS - AN INTRODUCTION

What does IELTS mean? It means International English Language Testing System. Students from foreign countries who wish to study a degree or a diploma in an English speaking country such as England, Australia, New Zealand etc are required to sit an IELTS test before they are accepted into a tertiary institution. Most institutions require that students achieve 6 or more in the IELTS test.

There are 4 skills that are tested and that need to be mastered in IELTS. Speaking, reading, writing and listening are tested.
